Dr. Stephan D. Meyer joined MME in 2017. As an attorney-at-law he specialises in the legal and regulatory design of technology projects. He is a renowned expert for DLT, legal structuring of tokens and artificial neural networks. Besides his work with MME, he is co-founder and Chief Legal Officer with Obligate, a global platform and infrastructure provider for on-chain bonds.
Stephan received his PhD summa cum laude from the University of Zurich on the topic of 'Rights to and from Blockchain-based Crypto Tokens' and was awarded the Issekutz Prize 2020 as well as the Prof. Walther Hug-Prize 2023. He led the module «Blockchain und Smart Contracts» at University of Lucerne for several years, is co-founder of a European blockchain think tank, Research Associate at UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies and gives various national and international talks and guest lectures.
He is passionate about finding the optimal, often creative, interplay between technology, law and regulation.
