A tax reduction as a further measure to soften the hardships of coronavirus is being discussed.

In addition to the immediate measures already decided upon to soften the hardships caused by the Corina crisis (MME has already informed about it in its previous article), the government of the Canton of Zug also discussed a tax reduction this week. The Treasury department has been instructed to submit an application to the Cantonal parliament regarding a potential reduction of the cantonal tax base for the years 2021 - 2023 from its current level of 82% to 78%. Acceptance of this proposal would result in an effective tax rate (cantonal and federal level) of 11.79%. With this measure, the Government of the Canton of Zug intends to make an important contribution to relieving the burden on taxpayers, for both, individuals as well as companies.

MME will continue to keep you regularly informed about new developments in this area and will, of course, be at your disposal to answer your questions at any time.
