Swiss Working Permits

Swiss immigration law is undergoing a process of constant change. With respect to worker's mobility, the situation on the Swiss labour market has significantly altered during the last ten years from a very regulated, rather restrictive regime to a more and more liberalized regulatory framework, particularly with respect to EC (including EFTA) nationals. After the Swiss citizen's vote of February 9, 2014, new restrictions will be introduced during the coming two years (i.e. until February 2017). In February 2015, the Swiss Federal Council took various decisions on the implementation of such restrictions and has approved a first draft of the new legislation on foreign nationals.
