Crypto Valley Map

A new Silicon Valley for the international bitcoin and blockchain scene is taking shape between Zug and Zurich. The Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute has now created a map representing the most important players in the cluster. MME Legal | Tax | Compliance is proud to be part of that map.

The canton of Zug is a good location for companies that work in the field of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, explained the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute from Rüschlikon in the canton of Zurich in a statement. Attractive factors include tax policies in the canton, as well as the work of the Institute of Financial Services Zug (IFZ). There is also the profile of companies that have already been successful, including Ethereum, a start-up founded by Vitalik Buterin. Meanwhile, a pilot project of the City of Zug promises an innovative push by allowing the settlement of invoices under CHF 200 by bitcoin.

At the other end of the so-called Crypto Valley, the Zurich financial centre is an important place of establishment. Among its assets are major banks, insurance companies, start-ups in the FinTech sector and the research conducted by the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) and the University of Zurich, according to the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute.
